Over the years since I retired from teaching and took up photography, I have accumulated a conglomeration of photo websites and blogs where I post pictures. Could I have kept it simple? Of course, but where’s the fun in that?
My vast variety of blogs and photosites reminds me of a family that lived in the tiny town in southeastern Pennsylvania where I grew up. Just about every year or so, it seemed that they added a child, and with each new child they added a room to their house. There was no particular design; they just grew…both the family and the house. My conglomeration of photo websites has pretty much followed that same process. It just grew! Some sites have been tried out and discarded through the years, but here are the places I have posted my pictures, both past and present, that are still up and running:
- Blipfoto-a website where I have posted a picture (almost) every day for three years
- Smugmug-a compilation of my current photo galleries
- Zenfolio-a compilation of my earlier galleries
- Skip’s Photoblog-my “photo central” that includes current updates and links to all my other photosites
- Flickr-Currently used mainly for posting my photos taken in Lake Metroparks
If you are a photography aficianado with an interest in websites and lots of time on your hands, you are welcome to try all of them. However, if, like most people, your time is limited, just sign up to “Follow Me” right here on my WordPress Photoblog. That will make you a subscriber to this photoblog where I will post the “keepers” from my daily photo walks from this day forward. As a subscriber, you won’t miss anything. It is easy to subscribe. Just go to the bottom of any page on this website, click the “Sign Me Up” button and the rest is easy.
P.S. I love comments, and there is a comment box at the bottom of every page where you can comment on my pictures or just say “hello.” It’s easy and only takes a minute…or longer, depending on how long your comment is.
P.P.S. If you are wondering why I switched from my previous “Skip’s Photoblog” to this one, the answer is simple. In my opinion, this WordPress photoblog is much more dependable, versatile, and user-friendly. I hope you find it so, but if you have any problems with it, please let me know.
Thanks for visiting!
